Good news: you're on page 1. Bad news: nobody's clicking through to your website. Google shows you. People scroll right past.
You have a click-through rate problem.
Ranking is only half the battle. Getting people to actually click is the other half.
Why People Skip Your Listing
Boring title. If your page title in Google says "Home - Smith Plumbing" you're invisible. Compare to: "24/7 Emergency Plumber in Dallas | Smith Plumbing"
No compelling description. The text under your title (meta description) is your ad copy. If it's blank or generic, people won't click.
No trust signals. Your competitors show star ratings and review counts. You don't. They look more trustworthy.
Doesn't match intent. If someone searches "plumber prices" and your listing doesn't mention pricing, they'll click someone who does.
How to Get More Clicks
Write compelling titles. Include your main keyword, location, and something that makes you stand out. "Same Day Service" "24/7" "Free Estimates"
Optimize meta descriptions. Write it like an ad. What makes you different? Include a call to action. "Call now for same-day service."
Get reviews for star ratings. Google often shows star ratings in search results if you have enough reviews. This massively increases clicks.
Match search intent. Look at what's ranking and what they include. Make sure your listing matches what people are looking for.
Ranking without clicks is useless. Optimize your listings to win the click.
